The Moon is the one worth checking often: it covers about half a degree an hour and changes sign every two and a half days, while Pluto can sit in the same degree for months.

What does retrograde mean?
That the planet appears to move backwards against the stars as seen from Earth. It is an optical effect of the two orbits, not a real reversal, and it happens on a schedule that can be computed centuries ahead.
Why is there no Ascendant here?
Because the Ascendant depends on where you are standing and on the exact minute. It is personal, not global, so it belongs in the rising sign calculator rather than on a page about the shared sky.
