About AstraBrain
An astrology service is only as good as two things: whether the chart is computed correctly, and whether the text about it is honest. This page says how we handle both, in enough detail to check us.
What this is
AstraBrain computes natal charts and reads them back to you in plain language. It runs as a Telegram Mini App and as a website in ten languages. Beyond the birth chart there is synastry (two charts compared), a chapter-by-chapter Book of Life, and a chat that puts your chart against the transits currently overhead. Everything starts from one thing: a date, a time and a place of birth.
How the math is done
Every chart on this site is computed by Swiss Ephemeris — the same library professional astrology software uses — from ephemeris files covering 1800 to 2399. Not approximations, not a lookup table of sun signs. Your birth time is converted to UTC through the historical timezone of your birth city, so wartime clock shifts and old daylight-saving rules are applied as they actually were, not as they are today. The zodiac is tropical, the houses are Placidus, and above the polar circles — where Placidus is mathematically undefined — the calculation falls back to Porphyry and the page says so.
Where the AI comes in
The AI does not calculate anything. By the time a model is involved, the chart already exists as numbers: degrees, houses, aspects with their orbs. Those numbers are handed to third-party AI providers, which write the interpretation in your language. This is the honest division of labour in the product — arithmetic where arithmetic belongs, language where language belongs — and it is why the Ascendant here is correct while a general chatbot asked to read your chart will confidently invent one.
What we refuse to write
The model is instructed against four things in every prompt the product sends: medical advice, psychiatric diagnosis, financial recommendations and legal advice. It is also instructed never to predict death, illness, pregnancy or specific financial outcomes. This is not a disclaimer bolted on at the end — it is part of the instruction the model receives before it writes a word. A reading that promised any of those would be more confident, not more accurate.
What we say when we do not know
Without a birth time the Ascendant and the houses cannot be computed at all, so we leave them out and tell you why instead of filling the gap with something plausible. When the Moon changes sign on your birth date and the time is unknown, both options are shown rather than one picked at random. On the celebrity charts, entries whose birth date could not be verified carry a notice instead of a reading. Being honestly incomplete beats being confidently wrong.
