The shadow side manifests as an over-reliance on the South Node in Cancer: retreating into emotional comfort, fear of public responsibility, codependency, or an inability to set firm boundaries. They might become overly sensitive to criticism, internalizing it instead of using it constructively. Conversely, if they lean too heavily into an unevolved Capricorn energy, they can become cold, ruthless, overly ambitious to the point of neglecting personal relationships, or emotionally repressed. They might struggle with workaholism, a fear of vulnerability, or an unhealthy obsession with status and control, losing sight of the human element. The trap is to either remain stuck in the past's emotional security or to become a rigid, unfeeling machine.
