A fire Sun and a fire Moon
At the start the Sun is in Sagittarius at 7°26′, the sign of long horizons and blunt honesty, and the Moon is in Leo at 17°07′ in its last quarter phase. A last quarter Moon in symbols is a turning point of review, a time to sort what to keep from what to release, and in Leo it does so with warmth and a wish to be seen doing it. The Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Leo are both fire, so the two lights agree on temperature: bright, outward, expansive. The race has a short history: the Qatar Grand Prix was first held on 21 November 2021 at Lusail, skipped 2022 because of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and returned in 2023 on a ten-year contract.
Mars in Virgo at the start of its sign
Mars is in Virgo at 1°26′, at the very beginning of a precise, detail-minded sign, while Jupiter in Leo at 26°44′ stays in the sign of warmth and display, so drive and growth keep to different signs. Mercury in Scorpio at 20°08′ and Venus in Libra at 27°17′ both move direct. The retrograde planets are the slow ones: Saturn in Aries at 8°03′, Neptune in Aries at 1°40′ and Uranus in Gemini at 3°31′, while Pluto in Aquarius at 3°32′ moves direct. Three of the eight planets in the table are retrograde. In symbols that is a sky with its quick planets moving forward, Mars at the threshold of a careful chapter, and only the slow planets looking back.
Four natal Suns, two planets
Four natal Suns are touched. Transiting Mars sits on Kimi Antonelli's natal Sun in conjunction (orb 0.69°) and on Valtteri Bottas's natal Sun in conjunction (orb 3.6°), a symbol of energy and heat on the core of the chart. The Moon is opposite Pierre Gasly's natal Sun (orb 0.85°), an emotional pull from across the chart, and sits on Arvid Lindblad's natal Sun in conjunction (orb 1.57°), a mood landing on the core of the chart. Because the Moon moves fast, the two lunar touches are brief and the Mars ones last longer. These are tendencies in symbols, not promises about the race.
