Las Vegas Grand Prix: the sky at the start

Start
November 21, 2026, 20:00 (04:00 UTC)
Circuit
Las Vegas Strip Circuit, Las Vegas

Round 21 of the 2026 season is a Saturday night race on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, with the start at 20:00 local time on 21 November. This page reads the sky at that moment: the Moon, the Sun, Mars and the other planets, and the three drivers whose natal Suns the sky touches. It describes the sky, not what happens on track.

Drivers touched by the sky

The Moon or Mars within a few degrees of a driver's natal Sun, in conjunction or opposition.

A waxing Moon in Aries, a Sun at the border

At the start the Sun is in Scorpio at 29°52′, within a fraction of a degree of the end of the sign, and the Moon is in Aries at 26°21′, in the waxing gibbous phase: past the first quarter and still growing toward the full. In symbols a waxing gibbous Moon is a time of refinement and building toward a result, with the light increasing. Aries brings a quick, direct tone to that build, while the Sun in the final degree of Scorpio carries the concentrated, private feeling of a chapter that is closing. The Las Vegas Grand Prix is young: the first race was held on 18 November 2023, at night, on a temporary street circuit that includes parts of the Las Vegas Strip.

Mars and Jupiter in Leo, only the slow planets look back

Mars is in Leo at 28°26′ and Jupiter in Leo at 26°20′, about two degrees apart in the same sign: two planets of drive and growth sharing the late degrees of the sign of display. Mercury in Scorpio at 10°26′ and Venus in Libra at 24°08′ both move direct, so thought and taste are on a forward path. The retrograde planets are the slow ones: Saturn in Aries at 8°15′, Neptune in Aries at 1°44′ and Uranus in Gemini at 3°50′ all turn backward, while Pluto in Aquarius at 3°23′ moves direct. Three of the eight planets in the table are retrograde. In symbols it is a lighter sky, with the quick planets moving forward and only the slow ones looking back.

Russell, Hülkenberg and Antonelli under Mars

Three natal Suns are touched, all by Mars. Transiting Mars is opposite George Russell's natal Sun, an orb of 1.84°, a symbol of friction, pushback and a strong sense of being challenged across the chart. Transiting Mars sits on Nico Hülkenberg's natal Sun in conjunction (orb 2.54°) and on Kimi Antonelli's natal Sun in conjunction (orb 3.69°), a symbol of energy and heat on the core of the chart. Mars is the single planet that reaches them, so the pattern is one planet touching three people rather than three different influences. These are tendencies in symbols, not promises about the race.

Mars in Leo touches the natal Suns of Russell, Hülkenberg and Antonelli under a waxing gibbous Moon in Aries: a building sky, with Mercury and Venus moving forward.
